ANNUAL SPORTS MEET 2017-18

ANNUAL SPORTS MEET 2017-18

Lodha World School, Palava celebrated the grand finale of the Annual Sports Meet 2017-18, on January 27, 2018, on Titan’s Turf.

It was a wonderful, wintery day promising exciting things ahead. The 5th Annual Sports Meet was going to begin in a few minutes.

The place was a riot of colours – red, blue, green and yellow – and it resonated with cheers from the supporters (parents) in the spectators’ stand, for all the four Houses.

The students of Std V who compered the show, started the proceedings in right earnest and the march past began with the four House Captains leading each House around the ground in perfect synchronisation behind the Sports Captain, Head Boy and Head Girl with the school flag. The Principal Ms. Aditi Banerji took the salute after the hoisting of the school flag. As the flag fluttered high above, it gave all the students the added impetus to attempt to reach the heights in their respective events.

Master Viraj Raundal – the Sports Captain read out the Sports oath. This was followed by the declaration of the meet open by the Principal.

The drills performed by the students were of different varieties, colourful and performed with full energy and enthusiasm.

The races included flat races of 50 metres, 200 metres, 400 metres and relays.

The finale was the Tug-of-War (boys and girls). The parents gathered in large numbers were continuously applauding the participants of the track displays.

The winners were presented trophies, medals and certificates by the Principal who congratulated all the winners for being trailblazers in their respective events.

At the end of the sports meet, after the tallying of scores, the Best House trophy was awarded to Zeus House, the March Past trophy went to Aeolus and the best sportsperson (girl and boy ) trophies went to Riya Salaria and Ronit Shetty, both from Std X.

All in all, it was a wonderful event and kudos to our parents, teachers and children without whom, we would never have the courage to dream or the passion to make things happen.

Good job, Lodhaites! You stayed true to the unifying Lodha spirit, cheering in one voice for the deserving participants. That is the true spirit of sports!
